I've decided to make a thread about it now; the Miner's Ice Rod.
The Miner's Ice Rod would be a late-game upgrade to the Ice Rod that will block-swap* blocks with Ice Rod Ice when the projectile hits said block, instead of just breaking upon hitting a block.
For convenience, the Ice Rod Ice it spawns wouldn't last as long. Also, it would fire faster and do more damage.
Smart Cursor would fire the Ice Rod Ice in a parallel spread, like firing stuff parallel to the way you're aiming, but offset from your position to be like Smart Cursor works on pickaxes.
*said block-swapping would use the pickaxe power of the highest level pickaxe in your inventory

I think it would be cool if it mined the block on your cursor, having the projectile ignore blocks in its path

Then it would be able to hit enemies through walls, and that would be pretty busted underground.

I mean we already have Starfury that can do this. It doesn't need to be that much better than Starfury

I thought that it would inpact where the cursor is? this isn't infinite range

If the cursor distance was limited like with normal pickaxes, it would limit the combat aspect of the Ice Rod; it's still a magic weapon.

Ice rod impacts where the cursor is, as long as there is nothing in the way. This is how I imagine that the Miners Ice Rod can function aswell, just not limited by blocks
