Father’s Day Gift Guide 2024: The Best E-Bikes For Big Riders (2024)

If you’re like me, an e-bike needs to be on the larger side for my 6-foot-1 frame, long inseam, and deep love of the Tuesday specials from the Taco Grande food truck located a bit too close to my home. At least I ride there and back! Large and in charge? Here are a bunch of e-bikes that big riders will feel very comfortable on. Be sure to wear a helmet when riding!

Cyrusher Scout Pro 2WD: $3,999

Cyrusher’s new Scout Pro is a dual-battery behemoth with a new and really useful feature: Two-wheel drive! A second 750-Watt motor in the front wheel lets it claw up an incline with extra power and grip. The full suspension keeps things smooth, and the dual batteries add up to huge range. Lithe and light? Nope. Big and burly? Yep, and in all the best ways - and it’s fast. The powerful LED headlight really lights up those night rides.

Stromer ST 7: $13,400

You can get less expensive e-bikes, but few will measure up to the build quality, sophistication, comfort and tech of the Stromer ST 7. It has a clean and quiet Gates belt drive - but also 12 gears using the cutting-edge Pinion transmission. And it’s the only bike on this list with real-deal ABS brakes on the front wheel. A hugely bright headlight with high beam, very robust construction, back-lit controls and super-quiet rear hub motor make the ST7 several cuts above pretty much any other commuter bike on the market.

Himiway D7 Cobra Pro: $3,999

Fat tire bikes are common, but big-framed, full suspension fat tire models with a powerful mid-mount motor are pretty rare. Himiway’s massive D7 Cobra Pro is a no-foolin’ off-road ranger with adjustable full suspension, a powerful 1,000-Watt mid-mount motor, ten rear gears and attitude to spare. The comfy ergos and plush legs, plus a big battery, allow for long-range expeditions on or off the road. Yeah, get the camo version.

Fiido Titan: $2,197 (Three battery version)

Got a long commute but still want to leave the car at home? Saddle up the big Fiido Titan, a powerful and burly fat-tire cargo carrier with a special accessory option: it can carry TWO additional batteries along with a whole bunch of other gear for over 100 honest miles of high-powered 28 mph pedal assist or 20 mph throttle-only riding. The fat tires and front suspension roll over most obstacles with ease and the powerful motor can move it up most any hill with you and all your stuff aboard. Battery near empty? Slip in a fresh one and the ride continues.

Fuell Folld-1: $1,995

E-bikes that fold up tend to be on the small side - ultimate portability is sort of the point. But the Fuell Folld-1 is surprisingly stout and roomy for larger riders, with a big tractor-style saddle, tall handlebars and - surprise - full suspension front and rear. The 20-inch knobby tires are four inches wide and the stout motor makes climbing hills a snap. Ride’s over? Fold it up, and pop it in the trunk, truck bed or hatchback.

Juiced Bikes RipRacer: $1,499

Remember the BMX bike you loved as a kid? Juiced Bikes translated one through a modern lens and the result is the RipRacer, an adult-sized BMX-style single-speed blaster with 20-inch fat tires and a twist throttle controlling the 750-Watt rear hub motor that can get it going 28 mph. There’s no suspension to fuss with, delicate derailleur to break or other distractions from the pure fun of riding this adult-sized hooligan machine.

Aventon Aventure.2: $1,799

Aventon just released their first dedicated mountain bike, but for just cruising around, running errands or even exploring off the pavement, the Aventure.2 is the ticket. With a 400-pound weight capacity, tall seat, front suspension and big 720Wh battery, it’s a roomy ride for anyone up to 6 foot 4, says the company. It also includes a bright LED headlight, tail lights and it even has turn signals!

Moots Express gravel ebike: $9,999

Got gravel on your mind? Long-time, iconic boutique mountain and gravel bike builder Moots makes some of the world’s best analog pedal power machines, and this is their first electric bike. As expected, it’s a winner. A powerful Shimano mid-mount motor helps you power a WIDE range of ratios across almost a dozen gears from granny to go-fast, and it’s all packaged with a carbon composite frame and other lightweight, go-fast components. Total weight? Just 33 pounds!

Pedego Moto: $3,995

It’s two for the show with the Pedego Moto! This unusual ebike sports 20-inch wheels with meaty off-road fat tires, full suspension with old-school style dual adjustable rear air shocks, a long, long bench seat - and a pair of folding passenger footpegs! A stout 750-Watt motor making 85Nm of torque coupled with the step-through frame makes it easy to ride, and you can point it off-road with confidence. Saddle up!

Lectric XP 3.0 folding ebike: $1,199

Lectric’s original XP folding bikes are super popular for many reasons: High-strength build quality, front suspension, adjustable ergos that fit a WIDE range of riders, and with the latest 3.0 version, improved hydraulic brakes, a rear rack and fenders as standard, a handy thumb throttle and 28 mph on pedal assist. Plus, did you catch that price? Sure, you can commute on it, but the XP 3.0 is really about having fun on a bike again.

Vanpowers UrbanGlide Ultra: $2,199

If you’re not as flexible as you used to be, a step-through frame e-bike is the answer. Vanpowers has your ride with the UrbanGlide Ultra, a large-size stepper with powerful mid-drive motor, 28 mph top speed, front suspension and a plush suspension seatpost for a super-smooth ride. Plus, it looks great. Been off bikes for a while? Here’s an easy, stylish and fun way to get rolling again!

Bonus alt-Choice: GoTrax GX2 super scooter: $1,499

Those little rental scooters are small and slow - but still pretty fun and cool. The GoTrax GX2 is much bigger and faster - and way more fun, with adjustable full suspension, two wheel drive, bigger knobby tires, full fenders, super bright LED lighting (with ground effects), and an OMG top speed! I’m seeing more and more people commuting on these - and not just students heading to class. Best of all, it folds up and pops into your trunk in seconds for more fun in more places.
