• BMW M5 F10

  

  The F10 generation is perhaps the black sheep of the M5 lineage, given it was preceded by the sonorous V10-powered E60 and succeeded by the all-conquering F90. As a result, you can find clean examples like this floating around for as low as £18,000, for which you get much comfort, plenty of tech and a mammoth 552bhp. Happy tailgating, folks.

• Jaguar XKR

  

  Despite the fact the Jaguar XKR is fast approaching its 20th anniversary, the shape still looks as good today as it did back when it was launched. Better, we’d argue, since very few modern cars boast the swooping silhouette and bottomless serving of snarls and snorts produced by its supercharged 5.0-litre V8. Perfection.

  Though the Audi A8 may typically be associated with relaxed motoring, we adore the third-gen S8 with its roguish body kit and truly wicked 4.0-litre biturbo V8. Thanks to the latter, the S8 gains the sort of duality its softer variation just can’t match, with a prod of the throttle allowing drivers to expose around 513bhp. Remember to stay two chevrons apart though; something most Audi drivers forget.

• Jaguar XJ Supersport

  

  The full-bore XJRs haven’t yet consistently crept under the £20,000 threshold, but worry not: a one-owner XJ Supersport with the same 5.0-litre V8 has. Not only is it the long wheelbase version which offers more, er, wheelbase, but you also get a sunroof, ambient lighting and virtual dial readouts inside. It should also be mildly comfortable…

• Mercedes-AMG CLS63

  

  This is no ordinary CLS63 because its owner has taken the 5.5-litre biturbo V8 to stage two and upgraded the quad-exhaust system. That means it now pushes nearly seven hundred brake horsepower according to the advert, which makes it by far the most powerful car we’ve featured this week.

• BMW M6 Gran Coupe

  

  It's been coming for a while now, but the fabulous BMW M6 Gran Coupe has finally dipped below £20,000. The proof can be found here - which appears to be the only one for sale at that price right now. With just 66,000 on the clock and no obvious issues listed, we expect it’ll get snatched up in a matter of weeks, if not sooner. Best hurry…
